Simon has now posted today's pit notes, and Roger has posted today's shots which include a sprinkling of pitside shots due to the limited on-track action. You can check out both pit notes and pictures via the Event Index page; if you don't see today's shots on the gallery page then click on your Browser's Refresh button.

Race Director Robin Shone has just informed us that today's Pro ET qualifying has been annulled. Qualifying will start from scratch again tomorrow.

It is still raining here at Santa Pod so Race Director Robin Shone has called a halt for today. We will give it another go from 9:00 tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned as Simon braved horrible conditions to get some pit notes and Roger has some pictures for us.

Mike's car recovered, it started to rain. We are on hold and the racers have been sent back to the pits. Stay tuned.

Pro ET qualifying session 1

Here we go then! The 2010 UK National Drag Racing Championships have started. First to run was Amanda Cox with her second observed run in the Yenko Nova. Unfortunately rolled through stage and then hit the throttle before Chief Starter Ian Marshall could summon her back. Drama for Mike Lacey as the right wheel came off his Camaro at the hit, huge lumps of metal on the track too. Mike is quite OK. Tremendous pass off the trailer for Carla Pittau, the Heaven and Hell Camaro visibly on one.

We had a couple of spots of rain, but that has gone away now. The racing surface looks to be drying nicely and the track crew are working hard on the shutdown area. Right now trackside conditions are 9.1 C, 75% humidity and 29.23 inches of air. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the Auto Trader Easter Thunderball, brought to you in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and is set to post a picture every sixty seconds until the track closes on Monday.

We had a lot of rain yesterday and some overnight. It's not raining right now but obviously the track is still a bit damp and the track crew are working hard to get it into order. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the webcam and we will bring you updates from race officials as we receive them. Simon will shortly be making his first trip out to the pits so keep an eye on the pit notes page for updates.
